Rita M. Keaveny, 89, of Southborough, formerly of Easton, and Brockton, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, October 8, 2014 at the home of her son. She was the wife of the late Robert M. Keaveny.

Born in Boston, she was the daughter of the late James and Angelina (Monaco) Driscoll and was educated in Boston schools.

Rita was a communicant of St. Luke the Evangelist Church and a member of the Southborough Seniors. She has been a resident of Southborough since 2000 previously living in Easton and Brockton for many years.

She is survived by two sons, Paul E. Keaveny of Framingham and Robert T. Keaveny and his wife, Jane, of Westborough; one daughter, Jeanne M. Keaveny of Phoenix, AZ and two grandchildren, Caitlin and Connor Keaveny.

She was the sister of the late Margaret Kiley and Mary Driscoll.

Her funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, October 11, at 10:00 A.M. in St. Luke the Evangelist Church, 70 West Main St., Westborough. Burial will follow in St. Luke’s Cemetery.

Calling hours at the Rand-Harper-Pickering Westborough Funeral Home, 62 West Main St., Westborough, are Friday, October 10, from 6 to 8 P.M.

Obituary: Joan Ann (Lynch) Barry, 83

Joan Ann (Lynch) Barry, 83, of Southborough died peacefully in her home on Saturday, October 11, 2014 surrounded by her loving family after an illness. Her husband, Llewelyn B. Barry, died in 1989.

She leaves her children, Stephen G. Balboni of Southborough and her daughter Susan Balboni and partner Fran Marranca of Redondo Beach, CA; Granddaughter Elizabeth A. Balboni, of Southborough; two sisters, Dorothy Leavitt of Taunton and Martha Cole of KY; many nieces and nephews and close family friend, Kathleen Billingham of Northborough. She was predeceased by her first husband Henry Balboni who died in 1965. She is also predeceased by her two brothers, Martin and William Lynch and two sisters, Virginia Miller and Mary Popoloski.

She was born in the Hyde Park section of Boston, the daughter of  Martin and Mabel (Whittemore) Lynch. She graduated from Woburn High School. Joan enjoyed an administrative career in the Framingham School System. At the age of 16 she was hired as a bank teller at First National Bank of Boston where she was eventually promoted as their first female loan officer.

Joan and her husband Lew traveled extensively throughout the world. It was one of their greatest joys in life. Joan reveled in her morning papers, dining out, and cruising the Seven Seas.  She will be greatly missed by her family and friends.

Joan’s funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday, October, 15th at 10 AM at St. Anne Church, 20 Boston RD, Southborough. Burial will follow in Southborough Rural Cemetery.

Calling hours will be held on Tuesday, October 14th from 4 PM to 7 PM at Morris Funeral Home, 40 Main Street, Southborough (Route 30).

Obituary: Stephen J. Woodland, 62

Stephen J. Woodland died on Sunday, October 12th at Marlborough Hospital, Marlborough, after being unexpectedly stricken at his Southborough home early Wednesday morning, at 62 years.

Born & raised in Chelsea, he attended St. Rose Grammar School & St. Rose High School & in 1970, graduated from Chelsea High School. He continued his education at Suffolk University & became an alumnus of North Shore Community College in 1975. He went to work for T.J. Max International & became an Assistant Vice President of Loss & Prevention, a position he held for the past 32 years. Stephen was an energetic personality, who brought both professionalism & joy to the work place. He excelled in the execution of his position & shone among the greats, for his extraordinary personality, with his colleagues. He would want to be remembered as a long-time member of the “Altar-Servers” Guild of St. Rose Parish, & as a member in good standing to the Chelsea Knights of Columbus.

He loved animals & was an avid supporter for the care of abandoned animals.

Stephen is the beloved husband of 24 years to: Jo-Ann (Savignano), & the cherished father of Olivia J. Woodland of Southborough, MA. He is the dear brother to Chelsea Police Lieutenant Nancy E. Haumann & her husband, Retired Chelsea Police Sargent Joseph J. Haumann, of Saugus. Cherished son-in-law of Joan H. (Arnold) Savignano of Revere & the late Fred D. Savignano. He is also lovingly survived by his faithful sisters & brothers-in-law: June M. Bowman & her late husband Dr. James F. Bowman, PhD., of Newton, Mary Ellen Wilson & her late husband Robert J. of Revere, & Paul S. Savignano & his wife Joan M. Niles of Peabody. He is son to the late Joseph & Rita (Fahey) Woodland, & also leaves many adoring nieces & nephews.

To honor his work with animals, the family asks that rather than flowers, remembrances be made to the Massachusetts Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals at ANGELL, 350 South Huntington Ave., Boston, MA 02130-9923.

Family & friends are invited to attend visiting hours on Wednesday, October 15th, 2014 from 4 to 8 p.m. in the Vertuccio & Smith Home for Funerals, 773 Broadway (Route 107), Revere, for Stephen J. Woodland, who died on Sunday, October 12th at Marlborough Hospital, Marlborough, after being unexpectedly stricken at his Southborough home early Wednesday morning, at 62 years.

All are respectfully invited to attend his Funeral Service on Thursday, October 16th at 11 a.m. in the Woodlawn Cemetery Chapel, 302 Elm St., Everett. Private interment will be held in the Family Estates at Woodlawn Cemetery.

Vasilios “Bill” Vassilakis, 49, of Southborough, died unexpectedly on Tuesday, October 14, 2014.

Born in New York, NY, he was educated at John Glenn Elementary School in Seven Hills, OH and graduated from Normandy High School in Parma, OH. He earned a bachelors degree from Kent State University and his MBA from Cleveland State.

Bill was formerly employed as a wealth advisor for Merrill Lynch. He was a member of Sts. Anargyroi Greek Orthodox Church in Marlborough and has been a resident of Southborough since 2013 previously living in Yardley, PA. Bill was also an avid Ohio football fan.

He is survived by his five children, Alexa Vassilakis, Georgios “George” Vassilakis, Evangelos “Evan” Vassilakis and Gianna Vassilakis all of Westborough and Daniel Fay, U.S.N., stationed in Japan; his mother and step father, Joanne and Marinos Hionis of Adventura, FL and one sister, Irene Vassilakis of London. He was pre deceased by his father, Georgios Vassilakis.

His funeral service will be held on Saturday, October 18, at 2:00 P.M. in Sts. Anargyroi Greek Orthodox Church, corner of Cashman St. and Central St., Marlborough. Burial will be private.

Immediately after posting the obituary on Vasilios Vassilakis, I read this tragic story from Southborough Wicked Local about the 49 year old father of five:

State police identified the man found dead in a Westborough swimming pool earlier this week as a Southborough resident.

Vasilios Vassilakis, 49, of 601 Madison Place, drowned at a Westborough home on Tuesday, Worcester County District Attorney spokesman Tim Connolly said.

Vassilakis was found unconscious in the water at 1 Copperbeech Circle shortly after noon on Tuesday. He was taken to UMass Memorial Medical Center, where he could not be revived.

Jane Marie (Larrivee) Spinoza, 71, beloved wife of Frank X. Spinoza, Jr., died Tuesday, October 14,2014 at her home after a long illness.

Born in Providence, Rhode Island, she was the daughter of the late Oliver J. and Catherine (Faye) Larrivee. She was a graduate of Quinsigamond Community College of Worcester, where she received her nursing degree. Prior to her illness she worked at Marillac Residence / Elizabeth Seton Health Care in Wellesley Hills for 10 years as a Registered Nurse. 

She had a love for greyhounds and was responsible for the rescue of 10 greyhounds.

In addition to her husband she leaves 2 children, Sean Patrick Gill of Friendship, MD and Moira (Mollie) Jane Gill of Fresno, CA; 2 grandchildren, Brady Sullivan Gill and Erin Mae Gill; her siblings, Gail F. Grimes and her husband John of Warwick, RI and Linda L. Rogers and her husband Bill of Zephyr Hills, FL. She was predeceased by her daughter Erin Patricia Gill and a sister Maryann E. Minor.

Relatives and friends [were] cordially invited to calling hours at the Morris Funeral Home, 40 Main St. (Route 30), Southborough on Friday, October 18, from 4:00 to 8:00 pm. A funeral service [was] held on Saturday at 10 AM at St. Anne Church, 20 Boston Rd. (Route 30), Southborough. Burial will follow at Southborough Rural Cemetery.

Joseph E. Kearns, 78, of Southborough, died Sunday, October 26, 2014 after a long illness, surrounded by his loving family.

He leaves his wife of 55 years, Judith E. (White) Kearns; two sons, Douglas J. Kearns and his wife, Kimberlee of Bedford, NH., and Jeffrey Kearns and his wife, Lauren of North Richland Hills, TX.; four grandchildren, Jack, Mackenzie, Zachary and David Kearns; two brothers, Lawrence Kearns and his wife, Linda of Plymouth and Robert Kearns and his wife, Maureen of Concord, CA.; many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his son, Edward J. Kearns and a sister, Janet Savage. He was born in Boston, son of Joseph and Vera (Crahan) Kearns. He graduated from Archbishop Williams High School in 1954 and from Northeastern University in 1959 with a BSEE In Electrical Engineering. He moved to Southborough in 1969. 

Joe was an Electrical Engineer for Raytheon Corporation for 36 before retiring as a Consulting Scientist in 1999.

He enjoyed traveling, especially his many trips to Florida with Judy. He was also an avid skier and golfer.

Joe’s funeral Mass will be held on Thursday, October 30 at 10:00 am in Saint Anne Church, 20 Boston Road (Route 30), Southborough. Burial will follow in Southborough Rural Cemetery.

Dorothy H. Fedorowicz, age 85, of Framingham, MA , formerly of Ansonia, entered into rest on Sunday, October 26, 2014 in St. Patricks Manor, Framingham. She was the devoted wife of the late Joseph Fedorowicz.

Mrs. Fedorowicz was born in Shelton on June 13, 1929, daughter of the late Joseph and Elizabeth (Mikulak) Daiuto, attended St. Joseph Grammar School, and graduated from Shelton High School. She was a resident of Ansonia for most of her life before moving to Framingham. She was a retired machine operator for BIC and also was employed at Eastside Green House in Ansonia for many years. She was a former member of the Church of the Assumption in Ansonia. She is the beloved mother of Alice Hilsbeck and her husband Charles, Jane Fedorowicz and her husband Michael Golibersuch, and Susan Pyne and her husband Gerald. She is the loving sister of Betty Benis and her husband Alan, and the cherished grandmother of Rita Hilsabeck, Andrew Golibersuch, William Golibersuch, Katherine Pyne, and Edward Pyne. 

Friends may greet her family on Thursday from 4 to 7 PM in the Riverview Funeral Home, 390 River Road, Shelton.

On Friday her funeral procession will leave the funeral home at 8:45 AM for a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 AM in the Church of the Assumption in Ansonia. Burial will follow in Mt St. Peter Cemetery Derby.

Dean M. Lewis, 88, of Southborough, died peacefully, Tuesday, October 28, 2014, after a short illness.

His loving wife of over 59 years, Helen (Mocerino) Lewis died October 8, 2010. He leaves his six children; Steven D. Lewis and his wife, Kathy of Stafford Springs, CT, Darryl D. Lewis and his wife, Susan of Southborough, Dean M. Lewis Jr. and his wife, Adele of Uxbridge, Kimberly Lewis-Keddy and her husband, Timothy of Westborough, Robin Lamy and her husband, Kevin of Northborough, Kathy Franchitto and her husband, Brian of Southborough; 11 grandchildren, Timothy and Thomas Lewis, Bradley Lewis-Varney, Jenna Lewis-Keddy, Drew Lewis-Keddy, Ryan and Shane Keddy, Rachel, Renee and Olivia Lamy and Brianna Franchitto. He was predeceased by a sister, Norma MacLean.

He was born in Tunbridge, Vermont the son of Erastus and Gertrude (Bunce) Lewis. He was a lifelong resident of Southborough and a graduate of the former Peter’s High School. He was a United States Navy veteran who served during World War II in the South Pacific.

Mr. Lewis worked for many years as a graphic artist for Fenwal Inc. in Ashland before starting up his own printing company, Quik Print, in 1972, which is still family operated.

Dean loved watching his grandchildren’s sporting events and spending time with his family. He also enjoyed being a part of the “Morning Coffee Guys” at Mauro’s, “The Two O’Clock Dunkin Donuts Guys” and his “Friday Night Companions”.

Calling hours will be held on Sunday, November 2nd from 12:00pm to 3pm in Morris Funeral Home, 40 Main Street (Route 30), Southborough. After cremation, burial will take place in Southborough Rural Cemetery.

Born in Southborough, she was the daughter of the late George and Edith (Early) Boutilier and was educated in Southborough schools.

Eugenie was employed as a secretary for General Electric prior to her retirement and was the oldest member of the First Community Church of Southborough.

Rita H. (Plante) Mahoney, 87, of Southborough, died Wednesday November 5, 2014 in the Jewish Healthcare Center surrounded by her loving family.

Rita was born in Pawtucket, Rhode Island, daughter of the late Osa and Helene F. (Bouffard) Plante. She was raised in Worcester and graduated from Worcester Girls Trade School where she studied type setting.

She had been employed as a sales associate for over 15 years at the former Zayre’s Department Store in Worcester before she retired.

Rita was a fun-loving person, her friends from Briarwood described her as always participating in everything that Briarwood offered. She enjoyed many hobbies including dancing, singing, painting, sewing, playing the organ and her favorite enjoyment of all, traveling. 

She leaves her loving daughter, Carol Smith and her husband, Kevin and their daughter, Kelina of Princeton; sister-in-law, Marilyn Plante of Pennsylvania; two nephews, Ronald and Steven Plante and three nieces, Susan Plante Wrabley, Tina Plante and Laurie Leitzinger. She was predeceased by her husband, John Mahoney and a brother, Roland Plante.

Calling hours for Rita will be on Friday, November 14, 2014 from 2:00-4:00PM in the Britton-Shrewsbury Funeral Home, 648 Main St., Shrewsbury.

A prayer service honoring her life will follow at 4:00PM. Burial will be private in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton.

Rita Ann (Noberini) Mattioli, 91 of Southborough died on Friday, November 14, 2014 after a period of declining health. She was the wife of the late Richard Mattioli , who passed away in 1996.

Born in Southborough she was the daughter of the late Louis and Mena (Trioli) Noberini. Rita was a 1941 graduate of the former Peter’s High School in Southborough and then graduated from beauty school.

During WWII she would travel to Fort Devens where she would cut and style hair for the military men and women. Rita opened her own shop, Rita’s Beauty Salon in Framingham and later moved it to Southborough. She retired in 2001. She was a former member of St Anne Church in Southborough. Rita’s greatest joy was spending time with her family and friends.

She is survived by her sons, Richard Mattioli and his wife Sandy of Worcester; Ronald Mattioli and his wife Martha Ann of Southborough; Robert Mattioli and his wife Patricia of Marlvborough; 7 grandchildren, Christine and Leah Mattioli; Daniel, Bryan and Shawn Mattioli and his wife Katie; Jesse Preston and Joe Pineau; 3 sister-in-laws, Janet Mattioli of Southborough; Ann Mattioli of Cape Cod; and Vicky Noborini.

Visiting hours [were] held on Sunday, Nov. 16, from 1 to 3 PM at the Morris Funeral Home, 40 Main Street, Southborough.

A Funeral Mass will be held on Monday, Nov. 17 at 10 AM at St Matthew Church, 26 Highland St., Southborough. Burial will follow in the Southborough Rural Cemetery.

Obituary: Stephen Gorham Scott, 73

Stephen Gorham Scott, 73, of Southborough, MA passed away peacefully on November 10, 2014 in his home surrounded by loved ones after a courageous battle with lung cancer.

Born in Portland, ME to Gorham Hopkins Scott and Nora (Kemp) Scott, his early years were divided between Cape Elizabeth, ME and New Canaan, CT. He received his Bachelor of Arts degree in History from Dartmouth College in 1963. Thereafter, Steve became an advertising executive in New York City, Boston, and Providence where he managed many well-known accounts such as Ivory Bar Soap and Cross Pens. In the mid-1990s, he settled in Southborough to be closer to his family, and finished his career as a marketing executive with Comprehensive Identification Products, Inc. in Burlington, MA.

Upon retirement, he enjoyed many of his passions, including harvesting and sharing his extensive vegetable garden, skiing with family, golfing with friends, and senior softball. He was a voracious reader of history and politics; he also found pleasure in writing, painting, and listening to jazz. A lifelong sports enthusiast, he played basketball, baseball, and football in his youth, and was always a loyal fan of every Boston sports team. He was never happier than when entertaining family and friends in his antique home, where he was proud to demonstrate his fine culinary skills.

Steve will be remembered for his generosity, his love of family, his steadfast commitment to principles he held dear, and, of course, his dry sense of humor and quick wit.

He is survived by his daughters, Alison Hartelius, and her husband, Jason, of Shrewsbury, MA; Lauren Rankins, and her husband, Jared, of Virginia Beach, VA; five beloved grandchildren: Andrew, Benjamin, and Madison Hartelius and Harper and Maxwell Rankins; his brother, Peter Scott, of Boynton Beach, FL; his sister, Wendy McDonald, and her husband, Alan, of Southborough, MA; his sister-in-law, Peggy Scott, of Boston, MA; his nieces and nephews, Gregory Scott, of Watertown, MA and Molly, Betsy, and Timothy McDonald, of Boston, Somerville and Watertown, MA respectively; cousins David Scott of Harrisburg, PA and Timothy Scott of Chapman, ME. He was predeceased by his nephew, Andrew Scott. And, not to be forgotten, his cat, Quixote, a constant companion to the very end.

A memorial service will be held on November 29, at 11:00 AM at St. Mark’s Episcopal Church, 27 Main Street, Southborough, MA.

Robert G. “Chip” Horne, 58, of Southborough died suddenly Wednesday November 19, 2014 at his home.

Born in Hyannis, he was raised in Chatham the son of the late Charles and Nancy (Goslee) Horne. He was a graduate of Chatham High School Class of 1974 and of Worcester Polytechnic Institute Class of 1980, where he was a member of the Tau Kappa Epsilon Fraternity, and studied Physics and Business. Chip was an Information Technology Specialist for First Notice Systems, Inc. and a consultant for Costas Provisions Corp. He was an active member of the First Church in Marlborough, serving as a deacon and trustee among many other roles. Locally, he volunteered at Worcester State Hospital, Pine Grove Men’s Home, and Our Father’s Table; he was also an active participant in the ongoing efforts to rebuild following Hurricane Katrina.

Chip was a sci-fi aficionado, full of goofy jokes and good humor, and he embraced a love for both science and imagination. He enjoyed scuba diving and running, and loved sailing and playing tennis on Cape Cod. He was young at heart and constantly went above and beyond to help the people around him. Those who had the privilege of knowing him would agree that the world could use a few more people like Chip. He will be ardently missed by friends and family alike.

He leaves his daughter Alexandra M. Horne of Tempe, AZ; his sister Suzanne Whelden and her husband, Norris, of Nantucket; an Uncle, Donald Horne, and his wife, Skip, of Harwich, MA; a niece Tessa Whelden of Nantucket, nephews Caleb, Schuyler, and Seth Whelden, and nine beloved cousins.

A funeral service will be celebrated on Tuesday November 25 at 10:00 a.m. at The First Church in Marlborough (Congregational), 37 High St., Marlborough.

Burial will follow in People’s Cemetery, Chatham. Jan K. Brill, 53, of Southborough, passed away suddenly on Wednesday November 26, 2014. He was the loving husband and soulmate of Dena Rich.

Born in NYC, he is the son of Elaine (Reinis) Brill and the late Arnold Brill, of Forest Hills. In addition to his wife and mother, he is survived by his son, Michael S. Brill of Somerville; stepson, Justin R. Lopes of Kauai, HI; his brothers Curtis Brill of NYC and Ron Brill of Florida; his sister Kate Brill-Daley of Winthrop,MA; as well as his nieces, nephews and extended family.

An avid athlete, Jan played baseball during his years at Forest Hills High and University of Miami.

Jan was Vice-President of Mobilex/US Labs.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, December 6th at 2:00 P.M. at the Unitarian Universalist Church, 64 West Main Street, Westborough.

Muriel Bullard Hart, 91 , of Southborough, died peacefully at her home on Saturday, December 13, 2014 after a battle with cancer.

She was the wife of the late Donald L. Hart who passed away in 2008.

Muriel was a graduate of Hopkinton High School and worked for many years as a concierge for the Marriott Hotel in Framingham. She was a volunteer for the Boy Scouts of America for over 70 years and received many awards; among them was an honorary doctorate degree in scouting. Muriel was dedicated to her family and friends. She gave a quality of experience to countless children throughout her many years of scouting. She will be sorely missed by all who knew her.
She is survived by her children, Nancy Swaine of Temple, NH; George Hart of Franklin; David Hart of Boston; Donald Hart and his wife Natasha of Southborough; 2 grandchildren, Jason Matthew Hart; Amanda Casey; a great grandson, Matthew L. Hart; her siblings, Ruth Ward of Newport Richey, FL and a brother, Lewis Bullard.

She was predeceased by her granddaughter, Lisa Iandoli. 9

A celebration of her life will be held on Saturday, Jan. 3 at 11 AM at the Morris Funeral Home, 40 Main Street, Southborough.

Emma Abu Daboul [of Southborough] passed away peacefully with family by her side at 96 years young.

She was a vibrant beautiful woman who cherished family above all else. Her greatest joys in life were her 3 children.. Topper, Georgie and Missy. She was proud to have 8 grand children and 9 great grandchildren all of whom she spent a lot of time enjoying.

A lover of life and travel Emma toured the globe and saw the world, coming back with beautiful stories of far away places and of course a gift for everyone.

She had a passion for walking and walked the streets of Framingham every morning of her life, regardless of the weather, until she was 90 years old. Her famous walks through town made her a local icon and she was featured on the front page of the Middlesex News.

Always a giver, Emma was well known for literally giving the shirt off her back. Giving was a great joy for her. She loved lilacs, the color purple, cooking for her family. ballet, tea and toast. She was an avid reader reading at least 5 books a week and often read 2 books simultaneously, but mostly she loved shopping. Her shopping trips were famous too whether it was to the grocery store or the mall she always came back with an abundance of bags so she could give to her family.

Emma was a successful proprietor of the Westborough Dairy Queen for many years where countless people have recounted stories of her smiles and service. She left a mark on every life she ever touched. She had little sayings well known as “Emmaisms’ one very popular was “if water drips on a rock long enough it will surely leave a mark”. Emma left a mark that cannot be compared.

She will be dearly missed by her family who will always remember her traditions and unending love.

Calling hours will be January 4th 2-6 January 5th 3-8 at the home of Missy and David Margolis 374 Singletary Lane Framingham Massachusetts.

Catherine I. (Gillis) Lyons, 87, of Southborough and formerly of Waltham died on Thursday, January 1, 2015
surrounded by her family.

She was the wife of the late Mylon A. Lyons who passed away in 2007. Catherine and Mylon spent 12 winters during their retirement in Dunedin, Florida with many “snowbirds”.

Born in Mabou, Cape Breton, Nova Scotia, she was the daughter of the late Neil and Elizabeth (MacDonald) Gillis. Catherine was raised in Nova Scotia and lived there until her mid-twenties. She then joined her older sister in Somerville working many jobs. She met the love of her life, Mylon Lyons, and married him in 1956.

Catherine was a homemaker and devoted her life to her family. She was pre-deceased by 11 brothers and sisters and was the last surviving Gillis of Mabou Ridge, Nova Scotia. 

She is survived by her children, Mylon Lyons, Jr. and his wife Karen of Waltham; Edward Lyons of Quincy; Betty Lyons of Lowell; John Lyons and his wife Mary of Southborough; Darlene Mancuso and her husband David of Lakeville; 7 grandchildren, James and Katelyn Lyons; Brooke Lyons; Max, Charlie, and Owen Lyons; Kristin Mancuso; and many nieces and nephews.

Visiting hours will be held on Sunday, January 4, from 2 to 5PM at the Morris Funeral Home, 40 Main Street, Rte 30, Southborough.

A funeral Mass will be held on Monday, January 5, at 10 AM at St. Matthew Church, 26 Highland Street, Southborough. Burial will follow in the Linwood Cemetery in Weston.

Judith E. Kearns, 78, of Southborough, died Tuesday, December 30, 2014 after a brief illness, surrounded by her loving family.

She was the wife of the late Joseph E. Kearns , who passed away in October.

Born in Boston, she was the daughter of the late John and Mary (Lennon) White.
Judy graduated from Framingham State College in 1958 and for many years was a favorite art teacher with the Southborough Public Schools.

She enjoyed traveling with her husband Joseph, especially to Ormond Beach, Florida in the winter and to Boothbay, Maine in the summer. She loved reading, quilting and the many friends she made in Southborough since calling this town home, more than 40 years ago. 

She leaves her two sons, Douglas J. Kearns and his wife, Kimberlee of Bedford, NH; Jeffrey J. Kearns and his wife, Lauren, of North Richland Hills, TX ; four grandchildren, Jack, Mackenzie, Zachary and David Kearns; two sisters, Ursula Pearce of SC and Susie Einolf of MD and many nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her son Edward J. Kearns and her siblings; Mary Jane White; Barbie Grady; Brendon and Richard White.

A funeral Mass will be held Wednesday, January 7, at 10:00 am at St Anne Church, 20 Boston Road (Route 30), Southborough. Burial will follow in the Southborough Rural Cemetery.

There will be no calling hours.

Henry D. Baldelli [of Southborough], 100, passed away peacefully December 31, 2014 at Beaumont Nursing and Rehablitation Center in Westborough.

His loving wife of 63 years, Lena (Bertonassi) Baldelli, passed away in 2001. Henry leaves his daughters Pauline Carlson and Kathy Rivolla and her husband Sherman, his brother Fernando “Nando” Baldelli, his grandchildren Robert Maguire and his wife Amy, Kristyn Carlson, Dawn Fontaine and her husband Fred, Jill Rivolla, Shawn Maguire and his wife Jan, Tina Roney and her husband Chris and Craig Stanley and his wife Maura, 13 great-grandchildren who will all miss their beloved “Babou”, his sisters-in-law Rita Bertonassi, Dorothy Angelico, Thelma Bertonassi, Sylvia Moro and Margaret Bariolo and her husband George and many nieces and nephews. Henry was predeceased by his daughter Irene Maguire and her husband Edward, his son-in-law Richard Carlson, and sisters Betty Crosby and Gina Monfalcone.

He was born October 20, 1914 in Southborough and was a life-long resident in town. For more than 45 years he worked at Deerfoot Farms (Hygrade) as a foreman and then at Worcester Boneless Beef. During his retirement years he drove buses for Gulbankian Bus Co. in Southborough.

Known by many as “Uncle Andy”, he was always there with a helping hand or a ride if anyone needed one. On a summer day he was happiest on his tractor or tending to the beautiful gardens behind his home. Henry and his family shared decades of memories at Mayflower Beach in Dennis on Cape Cod where his family owned a cottage.

He took joy in life’s simpler things; family gatherings at his home in Southborough, making homemade pasta and bringing it to family and friends, and above all else caring for and spending time with his beloved wife Lena.

CALLING HOURS & FUNERAL MASS All are invited to gather with Henry’s family and friends Tuesday January 6th from 3pm-7pm at Roney Funeral Home 152 Worcester St. N. Grafton, MA 01536.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated Wednesday January 7th at 11:00am at St. Matthew’s Church 105 Southville Rd. Southborough, MA 01772. He will then be laid to rest with his wife Lena at Rural Cemetery in Southborough.
